Final full day in Barcelona before Cruise!

We decided for our third and final day in Barcelona we would do an excursion to see some sights outside of Barcelona. We chose to go with the company Spanish Trails which had excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. They only have 8 people at most on each tour, which offers the more personalized trip you would want. We chose to do the Costa Brava and Girona tour. It was much more than what we expected!! Once we got to the meeting point, we found people that were going on our cruise, which was so nice to meet them beforehand and they became our good friends on the cruise.

Richard was our guide and we drove to Paratge de Castell which was a beautiful coastal area--here are some pictures. It was a beautiful first stop!

We then headed to Costa Brava which is another beautiful coastal town. We walked along the walkway and then we sat down for a drink as a group together. We shared some sangria which was good! It was nice to sit and chat with the group and it was right by the water, which made it nice. Here are some pictures of Costa Brava:

Then we headed to Pals, which was our favorite part of the day. This is a medieval city that was extremely neat to walk around in. We thought it was really beautiful and they still had many of the established city still there. The "keep" was still there as well and this helped them defend the city. There was also a nice view of the rice fields. Here are some pictures of Pals:

After Pals, we headed to lunch which was included in our price. Lunch was so much fun! First off, the menu is in Catalonian and therefore, Richard had to read the menu to us. It was fun and entertaining to do just this. There was a great view at the restaurant and the food was delivered with speed. We had wine, appetizer, main meal, and dessert. View from Lunch:

We then headed to Girona which was a gorgeous city! This was also another huge highlight of the day. We spent a good two hours here and it was well worth it. We visited a piazza, walked across the canal, visited the lioness, and then headed to the Cathedral which was beautiful. A beautiful open piazza:

Then we headed back to Barcelona, the trip was around 9 hours and was a perfect last day! We were ready to get on our cruise boat by this time!
