Cruising to Atlantis: Nassau, The Bahamas

My husband and I took another cruise this past March with Carnival. We were on the Carnival Victory out of Miami. The stops included Nassau, Bahamas; Half Moon Cay, Bahamas; and Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos. We had an interior cabin in the middle on the 7th floor. I have to say, I will no longer get a cabin in the middle. There is too many people passing through who are loud and rude!

My husband and I have always wanted to go to Atlantis in Nassau for the water park, aquarium, and to walk around and see what the place is like. We took the Carnival excursion. We chose to do the excursion instead of doing it on our own due to Spring Break season. We were concerned it would sell out, so we purchased it through the cruise line. We had to meet on the boat at 8:30am and were off the boat on busses by 9-9:15am. The water park does not really open until 10am. Once we arrived, we were given a "tour" which really means being led through the main areas. We could not hear the main person speaking. We didn't need to though. Once we reached a point (walking after 15 minutes) they released us. We headed straight for the locker rentals. It was $9 to rent and we were the only ones waiting in line. It is ideal to head there first because this line gets EXTREMELY long later. We then headed to the various rides but happen to ride Leap of Faith first. The line was so short so it was ideal to get there right at 10am. It was a great ride! Then we rode the Serpent Slide which was also neat.

We then headed to The Current and rode that around while jumping on The Drop. This was really neat. I think the best part of The Current was the wave part. We then went around again and got on The Surge. That was a really neat ride.

We grabbed lunch at Pisces and we both got the fish and chips. It was so good! Highly recommend it. This came with the excursion, so it was nice to not have to spend a lot of money while there.

We wanted to explore The Dig. This was great and beautiful. I love that they have this feature in the park. We then headed to the Casino which was nice but I lost my $$!

We got back on the shuttle bus after this, but we had a great time at Atlantis. The shuttle service was easy and convenient. I think we had PLENTY of time at Atlantis. When I hear people say they wished they had more time, you should probably go and stay there. For an excursion, we had plenty of time to do all we wanted.

Once we got back to the area, we decided to walk around the market there. There are some people who will NOT leave you alone, however, I would just ignore and walk by them. You better negotiate if plan to get something! We walked back to the boat after this and were glad to have a great first excursion day!
