Pre-Drywall Meeting

We got an email asking to meet for our Pre-Drywall meeting. Prior to this meeting, we had been emailing the field manager Tim some issues we had noticed as we stopped and checked on the house. The most concerning issue was a spot on the roof that looked incorrect (see below) The only other issue I had concerns with was a vent in one of the bedrooms, I felt it was not in the best location (should usually be in front of windows- see below vent is in corner actually on other side of master bathroom).

Prepping for the meeting
My husband and I went the Sunday prior to our meeting on Tuesday and prepped. We looked at our electrical plan, looked at what we wanted in each room, and really looked all over. We made a list of questions we had after reviewing and items that were different from the plan. We spent a good hour doing all of this. We also were going to climb on the roof to look closer at the roof but realized we didn't have a large enough ladder.  I also happened to meet this day to drop off a small gift for some new neighbors we have there, it is actually an old co-worker at my previous workplace. Her and her husband stopped by to check on the house while I was on vacation. I really appreciated their help and they gave me some more advice. 1) Make sure the lights are in the places you want them, all the outlets and light switches as well. 2) Make sure the lights or other items are in the middle or straight. 3) Check vent locations

The Meeting
We arrived at our meeting and the first thing Tim, our Pulte Field Manager brought up was the roof. He said there was something the roofing forgot to do when putting that on and that it will be fixed in the next several days. WHEW! I was really worried about this piece. We then walked through the entire house and went over everything. It was actually a really good education session. I learned a lot about home building and construction in general. We have a basement, so also learned about sump pumps, items that are different than slab house, etc. We also felt it was good for us to try to address some of our concerns and we caught a couple of items that needed corrected. Overall, I would say 90% of everything looked good, which is pretty impressive. I realize that not every house is *perfect* there are minor flaws/details in each one, knowing this, and realizing people are human and make errors. Most of these items can be fixed fairly easily. We look forward to our drywall which will start next week and we will see our house shape more and more. We are excited!

Update on 7/27/18: They fixed the roof and they moved the vent. Thank you Pulte!!
