Messina, Sicily.... Cannoli's!

Our next stop was Messina, Sicily. We had an excursion planned this day to head to Taormina and then head to the beach for a couple hours. We were looking forward to a day of relaxation and exploration.
We were picked up and it took a good 30 minutes to get to Taormina and we saw Mt. Etna from a far (many people went on excursions to there) and then we also went by Isola Bella- which is a gorgeous, famous beach. We thought about going there but it was really crowded! Here are pictures of both of those.

Then we headed to Taormina and were given two hours of free time time there. This is a very old city that has a Greek Theatre (which seemed a little expensive to us). So my husband and I walked around and then decided to enjoy a nice lunch. It was a nice and relaxing time. We then headed to find a Cannoli, which is what makes Sicily so famous. It was DELICIOUS!

We then headed to the beach which was called Lido de Naxxus. We paid for the chairs and umbrella and just relaxed. It was a lot of fun and nice. Once we got done there, we headed to grab some gelatto and then our driver took us back. It was a great day and we got back to the boat without a worry!

Next stop- Palma de Mallorca, Spain!
